Membership Criteria

In order to be a viable candidate for membership, you have to be:

  • An undergraduate student enrolled in an accredited two-year/community college or four-year educational institution, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher  OR  
  • A graduate student who has received an undergraduate degree at a community college, two-year educational institution or four-year university, with a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 or higher OR
  • An alumni individual who has received an undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited four-year educational institution, OR  
  • An individual with a resume that demonstrates the characteristics of community involvement, civic engagement, achievements, and professionalism with a recommendation from a member of the organization in good standing.  

BENEFITS

This organization provides a safe space for participants to:  

  • Be comfortable with who they are, while addressing issues concerning women and developing skills to succeed (social, etiquette, professional, etcetera).  
  • Gain a sense of family through sisterhood.  Work wholeheartedly on creating their narrative, building self-definition, inclusive of worth, identity, recognizing talents, sense of belonging, esteem and celebrating themselves. 
  • Gain a deeper connection to history and the accomplishments within it.  
  • Commit to the progress of growth and development amongst like-minded individuals, who can relate to the challenges of being a woman of color. 
  • Recognize the importance  of transitioning into womanhood and being a strong effective leader.  Be able to develop leadership skills and a sense of community responsibility 


Our membership is a direct representation of the most determined, eager, goal-orientated young women amongst their peers.
